Hello to Hostwish clients and visitors! Hostwish is now under new management, and has been acquired by the owners of Hostmyheart.com.
We're really excited to have the opportunity to turn over a new leaf for Hostwish, and hope you come along with us for the ride. But what happened to the previous owner? What's going to happen to the current hostees?
We purchased the website from Erin, who turned over all rights and ownership to us. Erin has decided to work on other projects, and is working with us to make the upcoming changes as smooth as possible. Please let it be known that she loved Hostwish, and turning over ownership was not an easy thing for her.
The new owners and caretakers of Hostwish are Melissa and Eddie. They're the owners of Hostmyheart.com, which is nearing it's third birthday on the first of January, 2013.
Melissa is a blogger, likes website design and is a frequent Twitter user. Eddie is a programming wizard ninja pirate, who has four bachelor degrees under his belt.
We are not going to close Hostwish down! Hostwish will remain it's own hosting service with different packages than it's parent site. Hostwish's Twitter account, @hostwish will remain active and we will post site and service updates on it.
Erin has sent out a notice to all the hostees that she could (email addresses that were used upon signing up for Hostwish, that are still active and inboxes are not full).
On October 27th, those clients who replied to Erin's email and wish to move with her will not be moving to our server.
Those people that did not respond to the email will be considered our clients, and will be moving to our server. Once on our server, we will check for hosting accounts that have had no activity for three months, and will be suspending their accounts. If you do not contact us within two weeks from October 27th, we will terminate your account.
All domains that have been purchased from Hostwish, for Hostwish clients will be pushed to our Namecheap account.
If you have not updated your website within the last three months and Hostwish owns your domain, your account will be suspended for inactivity. We will then email you concerning your inactivity. If you do not respond within two weeks, we terminate your account and will retain ownership of your domain.
We don't think suspending inactive accounts or terminating accounts is harsh. People who have websites and care for them should at the very least attempt to update their website once a month.
Unless it's extreme circumstances, people who do not update a website for three months or more don't care to continue using that website, and are taking up space on the server.
As new owners, it's up to us to set standards for our services and clean up house.
You can contact the new owners via email at staff@hostwish.net for any questions or concerns you may have that were not answered here.
After October 27th we will be using Hostwish's Twitter account as well. You can find that at Twitter.com/Hostwish. We can't wait to meet all of you and listen to what you have to say. ♥
